Bethlehem Varsity Awarded for Academic Success
The varsity team was the recipient of the Scholar Athlete Team Award presented by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. This award was give because the 14 players presented by the Eagles had an overall 92.3 average. The players who were included were: John Gosstola, Nick Motyl, John Carswell, Cody Nolan, Jon Reynolds, Nick Sgroi, Eric Herman, Joe Cronin, Jack Singer, Parker Ruetz, Nate Rousseau, Kyle Bossung, Jack Ayer and Jon Martin. Gosstola led the way with an overall first quarter average of 96. Bethlehem was one of only a handful of Section II football teams to receive the award.

Martin Named 6th Team All-State
Kicker Jon Martin was named 6th Team All-State by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Martin was also named to the First Team Empire Division All-Star team as well as the Times Union All-Star team. He is currently ranked as the 38th best kicking prospect in the country on the Kohl’s Kicking Camps web site.

Former Eagles Continue to Succeed
No less than seven players from Bethlehem’s class of 2009-2010 played in the college ranks this year. Two of them, Casiem Maxwell and Ted Abriel, received recognition for their achievements on the field.
